Operating since 2008, Whatbox offers HDD packages for capacity and NVMe packages with faster storage. The entry HDD plan lists 3.90 TB for US$15 per month, including 10 TB of upload traffic.
The provider lists servers in North America and Asia as well as Europe. During the public check, the Netherlands was unavailable on the entry HDD offer.
What Whatbox does well

The custom management panel keeps application controls close to traffic information. It feels coherent, with less scrolling than Seedit4Me or Ultra require.

The inspected catalog contained about 20 apps. rTorrent was already installed, while qBittorrent was available through the panel. A browser file manager provided a quick way to manage files.
The costs and limits
Once the upload allowance is exhausted, the advertised policy reduces transfers to 100 Mbps.
The UI is quite different in its approach to many other providers so it may take some getting used to.

What the interface feels like
Application settings use a grid of clearly labeled install buttons. The qBittorrent installation displayed a progress bar and felt quick during the walkthrough; a reliable elapsed time was not recorded - doh.
Traffic has its own reporting views. Account preferences include shell selection, and automatic billing was an explicit opt-in on the tested account.
Our verdict
Whatbox is a good default for someone who wants managed media hosting with a straightforward interface. Hosting by Design is cheaper for comparable disk space, but Whatbox earns consideration through its everyday usability.
