That is a substantial jump for a relatively small increase in storage. Stream’s case rests on its root access and software flexibility.

Where Premium earns its place

The Stream environment we tested provided full SSH and root access. That is a meaningful advantage for customers who need to install system packages or customize their environment.

The supplied app inventory listed more than 100 one-click applications for Premium. Swift offers a cheaper route for customers content with torrenting and file retrieval.
The compromises
Stream is expensive relative to its disk space. Whatbox and Ultra offer considerably more capacity for a lower listed monthly price, although they do not provide the same root-access model.
Swift has no one-click media apps or root access. These restrictions make the lowest starting price a poor guide to customers planning on building a media server.

The dashboard and installers
The Premium dashboard documentation shows service links beside usage information. Its installer distinguishes available apps from those blocked by a conflict or plan restriction. Annoyingly, there's no search function - Ctrl+F is your friend there.
Emby installation on Stream took around two to three minutes.

Our verdict
Premium is a specialist choice for someone who will use root access. Swift is more competitively priced, but it only supports torrenting and file management, not media apps.
